Regional timber for a viewing platform

2012

Inspired by nature, we wanted to create a viewing platform that seamlessly integrates into the surroundings without impacting the existing trees. The platform is accessible and branches off from a hiking trail through the forest. Where the view is wide and unobstructed, our platform rises above the Ellbach Valley. It invites you to linger and enjoy the panorama.

The platform is barrier-free and branches off from a hiking trail through the forest. Where the view is wide and clear, our platform rises above the Ellbachtal. It invites you to linger and enjoy the panorama. The platform is made of Douglas fir wood to withstand the weather for as long as possible. The floor covering with parapet was pre-assembled in 1m wide elements and placed on the wooden framework without screws. A 3D model was created for the beam in order to cut all the wooden elements precisely and using CNC control. Elements pre-assembled in the workshop were quickly erected on site on the previously prepared foundations and screwed together.
