The new district in the Lindenviertel follows the model of “living in a park landscape”, with landscape qualities, while at the same time it is important to find contemporary urban living concepts in terms of resource and space consumption and thus also affordable living space. The programs necessary for a functioning neighborhood are already in place in the Neustadt. The existing buildings from the 60s - 80s offer efficient forms of living. Allotment gardens and garages create private green spaces and space for individual development. However, the strong spatial separation of living, gardening and mobility creates urban challenges: a high level of land use and a lack of meeting areas. We therefore offer a new interpretation and organization of the typologies.
