Based on the elements earth, fire, water, and air

2010

The 'Murgels Spielhaus' has been a meeting point for holiday children and local kids for years. With the renovation and expansion of the facilities, the playhouse was designed to be more child-friendly and further anchored in the community. The concept—based on the four elements of water, earth, fire, and air—focuses on nature as well as the myths and legends of the Black Forest as a foundation for design. This was done in collaboration with the municipality of Baiersbronn and its elementary school children. In special workshops, the children developed figures and painted and crafted their habitats. Based on this, the spaces of the playhouse were realized.

A new playhouse for Murgel and his friends from the Black Forest. Children are experts in their own needs. In various workshops, we explored the potential for change in their imaginary worlds. To this end, we expanded the Baiersbronn fairy tale of Murgel with the story of the four forest inhabitants. This story became the starting point for the redesign of the Murgel playhouse. Together with children from Baiersbronn and the surrounding area, we aim to give the Murgel playhouse a new face.
