The Black Forest building tradition today

2016

A new inn with distinctive bark cladding has been built in direct proximity to the babbling Rotmurg in Baiersbronn. The bark from local tree trunks was used for the facade cladding, with a natural drip edge, which typically results as waste during the cutting of planks at the sawmill. In the neighboring existing building, modest guest rooms have been created for nature hikers, where they can experience wood as a building material in a unique way.
